In fact, exercise training effects on improved insulin sensitivity may be lost in as little as 6 days after the last exercise session in individuals living with T2 D [9,10], suggesting the positive effects of exercise on glycemic control can be largely attributed to the acute improvements observed in the hours or days after each exercise bout [11]. Thus, understanding the acute effects of exercise on glucose metabolism is important to optimize exercise prescription for the prevention and treatment of T2 D.
