Effect of a Digital Health Exercise Program on the Intention for Spinal Surgery in Adult Spinal Deformity: Exploratory Cross-Sectional Survey

Effect of a Digital Health Exercise Program on the Intention for Spinal Surgery in Adult Spinal Deformity: Exploratory Cross-Sectional Survey

Adult spinal deformity (ASD) is a common condition with an estimated prevalence of 38% for primary (de novo) degenerative scoliosis [1,2]. ASD is a 3-dimensional deformity of the spine defined by a major curve magnitude angle of ≥10°, and women are more likely to have the diagnosis [1-4]. Patients with symptomatic ASD report increased back pain as well as lower health-related quality of life as demonstrated by worse SF-36 (36-Item Short Form Health Survey) scores compared to the general population [5,6].

The Motivations of Citizens to Attend an eHealth Course in the Public Library: Qualitative Interview Study

The Motivations of Citizens to Attend an eHealth Course in the Public Library: Qualitative Interview Study

I think it’s a shame that there’s no choice anymore. There’s obviously a generation of us that needs to have a transition that’s a little bit smooth, and not like: bam, next year everything’s just different. I think a lot of people my age have problems with that. For most, this digital experience was work-related where they were trained in specific, mostly simple computer programs useful for their jobs.

Uncovering Social States in Healthy and Clinical Populations Using Digital Phenotyping and Hidden Markov Models: Observational Study

Uncovering Social States in Healthy and Clinical Populations Using Digital Phenotyping and Hidden Markov Models: Observational Study

A positive symptom indicates an additional experience an individual is having, such as a hallucination or delusion, as opposed to a negative symptom, which indicates a deficit in an already existing function, such as a deficit in concentration. While schizophrenia is commonly associated with positive symptoms, negative symptoms also form a large component of the disorder.

Sex Differences in the Variability of Physical Activity Measurements Across Multiple Timescales Recorded by a Wearable Device: Observational Retrospective Cohort Study

Sex Differences in the Variability of Physical Activity Measurements Across Multiple Timescales Recorded by a Wearable Device: Observational Retrospective Cohort Study

The first 3 drivers of variability are associated with a state (awake or asleep) and a MET range. Sleep movement occurs while asleep and at a MET value of >0.9 (sleep results in a MET value of 0.9 [28]), awake movement occurs while awake and at a MET value of between 1.0 and 1.5 (resting while awake results in a MET value of 1.0, and intentional exercise results in a MET value of >1.5 [28]), and intentional exercise occurs while awake and at a MET value of >1.5.

Technology-Based HIV Prevention Interventions for Men Who Have Sex With Men: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Technology-Based HIV Prevention Interventions for Men Who Have Sex With Men: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

After reviewing studies published in 2007 to 2019, a systematic review of technology-based HIV interventions described a trend of increasing e Health modalities. Interventions were reported to be efficacious in increasing safe sex behaviors in the short term; only a quarter of the interventions reported maintaining the behavior change over a year [18]. Another systematic review from 2015 to 2020 found more pilot or quasi-experimental study designs than efficacy randomized controlled trials (RCTs).

Sustainability and Time Trends in Electronic Patient-Reported Outcome Assessment in Routine Cancer Care: Systematic Scoping Review and Follow-Up Survey

However, since the review by Warrington et al in 2019 (which included studies published until 2017) [21], no recent comprehensive reviews have captured this trend across the field of oncology as a whole—a considerable time span for a fast-changing field.

Preferences for Mobile App Features to Support People Living With Chronic Heart Diseases: Discrete Choice Study

Preferences for Mobile App Features to Support People Living With Chronic Heart Diseases: Discrete Choice Study

A choice task presented to respondents in this study. Subsequently, a web-based pilot test was conducted among adults aged 18 years and older with CHD, recruited through the Pure Profile platform, to estimate Bayesian priors for the final survey design. Each choice task began with an introductory scenario, prompting respondents to envision a mobile app offering to assist them with their CHD. In this unlabeled experiment, the alternatives were referred to as mobile app A and B.

Moderators’ Experiences of the Safety and Effectiveness of Patient Engagement in an Asthma Online Health Community: Exploratory Qualitative Interview Study

If a post did not warrant deletion, for example, posts containing dubious (but not dangerous) advice or recommendations, the moderators reported that they would edit a post to add a warning and signposts to appropriate resources: I made the decision to leave the post up and edit it with a warning...I tend to do that if it’s been up for a few days and there’s been a lot of replies and quite often the replies are sensible, saying what I would have said in my warning...If it’s really bad I’ll just delete it, take
