The Use and Effectiveness of Mobile Apps for Depression: Results From a Fully Remote Clinical Trial

Participants were to use the problem-solving app i PST as often as possible each week, with a minimum of once per week being the typical amount undertaken in a clinical setting. i PST is based on problem-solving therapy, which focuses on a 7-step model to manage mood. In this app, participants choose a goal and are guided through a 7-step process to create an action plan. Problem-solving therapy is an evidence-based treatment [30] and is particularly effective in treating depression [3,31].
