How Data Analytics and Big Data Can Help Scientists in Managing COVID-19 Diffusion: Modeling Study to Predict the COVID-19 Diffusion in Italy and the Lombardy Region

The unexpected pandemic diffusion of COVID-19 [1] worldwide calls for the need to study all available data to promptly understand the epidemic curve of COVID-19 contagiousness [2-4] to help medical experts, epidemiologists, and political decision makers in designing prompt reaction plans. In this paper, we aim to develop an accurate predictive model tailored to forecast the evolution of the diffusion over time, exploiting big data and data analytics.
