To create a binary classification (bot or nonbot) and prioritize identifying true positives over true negatives, we set a threshold value of 0.8 [34]. Using this threshold, we classified approximately 14.8% of the accounts as bots, which is in line with the findings of other research that found bot levels to be between 9% and 15% of the total number of Twitter accounts [42].

At a user-defined time the next morning, the NUDGE bot sent a message reminding the user of their goal. Later in the same day, at another user-defined time, participants were prompted to self-monitor their physical activity. The participants replied to the text with a numerical value representing their physical activity attainment. This value was compared against their goal. The NUDGE bot then provided feedback to the user indicating whether their goal was met and requested a new goal.
