Despite their unique scopes of practice, aims, and session lengths, these fields share a common feature—the use of affective touch to foster trust-based relationships. Before the pandemic, touch played a vital role in interactions within these fields. For instance, manual therapists, nurses, and midwives used touch for physical examinations, hands-on interventions, and displaying empathy and compassion [10].
