Tele-Instruction Tool for Multiple Lay Responders Providing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in Telehealth Emergency Dispatch Services: Mixed Methods Study

Tele-Instruction Tool for Multiple Lay Responders Providing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in Telehealth Emergency Dispatch Services: Mixed Methods Study

In our previous study, it was observed that even though multiple lay responders possessed proficiency in single-rescuer CPR, they were unable to achieve optimal teamwork without team educational training [13]. However, there was a notable prevalence of unsatisfactory performance in terms of task allocation, effective communication, and teamwork, which was disappointing.

The Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Usefulness of a Web-Based Interprofessional Communication and Collaboration Platform in the Hospital Setting: Interview Study With Health Care Providers

The Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Usefulness of a Web-Based Interprofessional Communication and Collaboration Platform in the Hospital Setting: Interview Study With Health Care Providers

Results from the mixed methods study showed improved teamwork (encompassing both communication and relational aspects) in one of the two study wards after the introduction of the tool, without meaningful changes in face-to-face communication patterns during team rounds or adverse events in both wards. There is potential for an electronic tool to improve teamwork and communication, but success is dependent on the complex interactions of technological and nontechnological factors [24].

Teamwork Training With a Multiplayer Game in Health Care: Content Analysis of the Teamwork Principles Applied

Teamwork Training With a Multiplayer Game in Health Care: Content Analysis of the Teamwork Principles Applied

This study aimed to investigate the teamwork principles that were used in the game. As teamwork and communication between team members in the game occurred through individual and team chat, we qualitatively analyzed the game chat data. The type of teamwork principles used may relate to the level of teamwork experience of the players. Therefore, we performed 2 qualitative studies.

Virtual ER, a Serious Game for Interprofessional Education to Enhance Teamwork in Medical and Nursing Undergraduates: Development and Evaluation Study

Virtual ER, a Serious Game for Interprofessional Education to Enhance Teamwork in Medical and Nursing Undergraduates: Development and Evaluation Study

Regarding teamwork and communications enhancement, there is also evidence showing that game-based surgical education training, with face-detection and head-tracking technology, can enhance nonverbal communications and facilitate teamwork [12]. There is also evidence that single-player screen-based teamwork training is feasible, and that it does not affect in-game performance [13].

Team Building Through Team Video Games: Randomized Controlled Trial

Team Building Through Team Video Games: Randomized Controlled Trial

Therefore, effective teamwork has long been a critical area for research [1,2]. Yet, evidence continues to emerge that shows teamwork is often ineffective. For example, one practitioner survey found that 97% of employees and executives believe that team alignment is critical to their effectiveness, yet 86% blame a lack of effective team collaboration for workplace failures [3].

Examining the Effectiveness of 3D Virtual Reality Training on Problem-solving, Self-efficacy, and Teamwork Among Inexperienced Volunteers Helping With Drug Use Prevention: Randomized Controlled Trial

Examining the Effectiveness of 3D Virtual Reality Training on Problem-solving, Self-efficacy, and Teamwork Among Inexperienced Volunteers Helping With Drug Use Prevention: Randomized Controlled Trial

To help students stop using illegal drugs, teamwork is important for volunteers. Teamwork might include team building and collaborative discussions of the adolescents’ daily life. A previous study indicated that teamwork might buffer the negative effects of the drinking environment on coworkers [13]. Moreover, a previous study indicated that teamwork is an essential component of a preventive program to help manage problem behaviors [14].

Development and Implementation of a Multidisciplinary Electronic Discharge Readiness Tool: User-Centered Design Approach

Development and Implementation of a Multidisciplinary Electronic Discharge Readiness Tool: User-Centered Design Approach

We applied communication theory to the design of this tool with the intent of fostering interdisciplinary discharge communication and teamwork. Communication across care teams and improved interdisciplinary care has been recognized as an important factor for high-quality patient-centered care and for high-functioning teams. Studies have shown that when care teams communicate better, efficiency outcomes are improved [18].

Collaboration Structures in COVID-19 Critical Care: Retrospective Network Analysis Study

Collaboration Structures in COVID-19 Critical Care: Retrospective Network Analysis Study

Gaining knowledge on how HCWs connect and collaborate can improve teamwork, which in turn may improve care quality and patient safety [14]. Few studies have investigated the collaboration structures of COVID-19 critical care [15], but to the best of our knowledge, none have examined the collaborations among HCWs.
