The Use of Text Messaging as an Adjunct to Internet-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Major Depressive Disorder in Youth: Secondary Analysis

The Use of Text Messaging as an Adjunct to Internet-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Major Depressive Disorder in Youth: Secondary Analysis

The contents of messages sent from participants to NCs were coded using the procedure identified by Svartvatten et al [20]. All messages from intervention participants (n=20) were grouped via content analysis to determine conceptual categories and develop a comprehensive system that encompassed all client messages. After messages were analyzed, 2 authors (CW and LPM) randomly selected messages from each participant and jointly coded them to ensure the criteria for each category were agreed upon.

Opt-In and Opt-Out Consent Procedures for the Reuse of Routinely Recorded Health Data in Scientific Research and Their Consequences for Consent Rate and Consent Bias: Systematic Review

Opt-In and Opt-Out Consent Procedures for the Reuse of Routinely Recorded Health Data in Scientific Research and Their Consequences for Consent Rate and Consent Bias: Systematic Review

If legislation allows it, for instance, when in the Netherlands health care researchers expect a low and selective response when asking for consent, an opt-out procedure might be a good alternative to an opt-in procedure. In an opt-out procedure, an individual is presumed to consent if they do not actively refuse the reuse of health data, whereas in an opt-in procedure, patients must actively provide informed consent. Opt-out procedures may reduce the administrative burden on health care providers.

The Acceptability and Impact of the Xploro Digital Therapeutic Platform to Inform and Prepare Children for Planned Procedures in a Hospital: Before and After Evaluation Study

The Acceptability and Impact of the Xploro Digital Therapeutic Platform to Inform and Prepare Children for Planned Procedures in a Hospital: Before and After Evaluation Study

Self-completion questionnaire booklets were completed separately by children aged 8 to 14 years and their parent or carer at 3 time points: baseline (3 to 5 days before attending a hospital for the procedure), before the procedure (on arrival at the hospital), and after their procedure (within 5-10 min after completing their procedure). The questionnaire booklets collected self-report data on procedural anxiety, perceptions of knowledge, involvement, and satisfaction.
