The Relationship Between Lockdowns and Video Game Playtime: Multilevel Time-Series Analysis Using Massive-Scale Data Telemetry

The primary issue concerns the amount of time that individuals spend playing video games. The idea that excessive levels of playtime may have negative consequences for individuals is common in the literature, with several studies suggesting a relationship between COVID-19 policy-making and increases in disordered or addictionlike gaming [17-21]. Particular attention has been paid to the impact of school closures in this context.
