The abovementioned opportunities, barriers, and concerns have implications for patients, health care providers, and researchers. Furthermore, the legal, security, and privacy implications deserve further exploration. This may lead to some workarounds to make the blockchain architecture GDPR compliant, which have not yet resulted in something concrete [14-16]. Through this viewpoint article, we aim to discuss innovation and security implications that blockchain brings to the health care sector.
