Effect of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure or Positional Therapy Compared to Control for Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea on the Development of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus in Pregnancy: Protocol for Feasibility Randomized Controlled Trial

Effect of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure or Positional Therapy Compared to Control for Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea on the Development of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus in Pregnancy: Protocol for Feasibility Randomized Controlled Trial

There are, however, some benefits reported in the literature; a single night of CPAP in a study of 10 pregnant women with preeclampsia and coexisting obesity demonstrated improvements in fetal movements [18], and an improvement in blood pressure control both during sleep and wake was reported in a small study of 7 women, resulting in down titration of antihypertensive medication [19].

Fetal Birth Weight Prediction in the Third Trimester: Retrospective Cohort Study and Development of an Ensemble Model

Fetal Birth Weight Prediction in the Third Trimester: Retrospective Cohort Study and Development of an Ensemble Model

The assessment of fetal birth weight for the purpose of fetal growth monitoring is essential in contemporary prenatal care, as anomalies in growth are linked with negative consequences for both the mother and the fetus [1,2].

Technologies for Supporting Individuals and Caregivers Living With Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder: Scoping Review

Technologies for Supporting Individuals and Caregivers Living With Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder: Scoping Review

Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) is a diagnostic term that describes the effects of prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) on an individual [1]. Globally, it is estimated that approximately 7.7 of every 1000 births are affected by FASD [2]. People with FASD may experience restricted growth, diminished neurological and cognitive functioning, and behavioral problems [1].

Association Between Gestational Weeks, Initial Maternal Perception of Fetal Movement, and Individual Interoceptive Differences in Pregnant Women: Cross-Sectional Study

Association Between Gestational Weeks, Initial Maternal Perception of Fetal Movement, and Individual Interoceptive Differences in Pregnant Women: Cross-Sectional Study

Fetal movements begin in the eighth week of pregnancy, initially subtle and imperceptible to pregnant women. In the absence of maternal or fetal complications, differences in fetal development up to 20 weeks of gestation are minimal [3]. Therefore, fetal development is unlikely to influence a pregnant woman’s initial awareness of fetal movement. Recently, interoception has attracted attention in the fields of psychosomatic medicine and psychology [4].

Preeclampsia Onset, Days to Delivery, and Autism Spectrum Disorders in Offspring: Clinical Birth Cohort Study

Depending on the severity, health care providers will closely monitor symptoms, including blood pressure, platelet count, and fetal growth, as well as renal and hepatic function, and hypertensive medications can be added to control blood pressure [24].

Association Between Serum Glycated Hemoglobin Levels at Early Gestation and the Risk of Subsequent Pregnancy Loss in Pregnant Women Without Diabetes Mellitus: Prospective Cohort Study

Association Between Serum Glycated Hemoglobin Levels at Early Gestation and the Risk of Subsequent Pregnancy Loss in Pregnant Women Without Diabetes Mellitus: Prospective Cohort Study

The recorded SPL cases from the hospital’s electronic medical system were fetal deaths occurring before 28 gestational weeks in accordance with the Chinese clinical guidelines [4]. Stillbirth (fetal deaths after 28 gestational weeks), and artificial abortions due to ectopic pregnancies, molar pregnancies, or any clinically recognized disorders were not considered SPL in this study.

Predicting Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Using Machine Learning Techniques: Multisite Retrospective Cohort Study

Predicting Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Using Machine Learning Techniques: Multisite Retrospective Cohort Study

Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASDs) comprise a range of neuropsychological and behavioral deficits that emerge from prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) [1]. The most severe form of FASD, otherwise known as fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), is characterized by distinct facial malformations, prenatal or postnatal growth retardation, and central nervous system abnormalities [2]. In the United States, it is predicted that around 1%-5% of school-aged children have FASDs and 0.6%-0.9% have FAS [3].

Acceptability and Feasibility of a Low-Cost Device for Gestational Age Assessment in a Low-Resource Setting: Qualitative Study

Acceptability and Feasibility of a Low-Cost Device for Gestational Age Assessment in a Low-Resource Setting: Qualitative Study

The Tra Cer GA assessment device automates the measurement of the fetal transcerebellar diameter (TCD) and head circumference (HC). Tra Cer uses a low-cost, commercially available handheld battery-powered wireless ultrasound probe, which is linked, via Wi-Fi, to software running on a consumer-grade Android tablet (Figure 1). The device guides and assists health care workers (HCWs) to obtain ultrasound videos of the fetal head.
