This study focuses on two decentralized CTAs officially launched by governments (Corona-Warn-App, Germany; Swiss Covid, Switzerland). Decentralized CTAs prioritize privacy protection. The users’ identities are unknown to both other users and the central server [5]. Both the German and Swiss CTAs rely on the Google/Apple API, use Bluetooth Low Energy Technology to communicate with other smartphones, and can be downloaded for free [22-24].
