An Unstructured Supplementary Service Data System to Verify HIV Self-Testing Among Nigerian Youths: Mixed Methods Analysis of Usability and Feasibility

An Unstructured Supplementary Service Data System to Verify HIV Self-Testing Among Nigerian Youths: Mixed Methods Analysis of Usability and Feasibility

For example, implementation strategies to promote HIV self-testing have significantly improved access to HIVST services in Nigeria [12-14]. A major challenge with the scale-up of the HIVST services among AYAs in African LMICs is how to verify the results for individuals who self-test [15]. A recent systematic review documented various means of verifying HIVST results, including provision of supervision by health care workers, return of used test kits, and electronic transmission of photographs [15].

Willingness of Chinese Men Who Have Sex With Men to Use Smartphone-Based Electronic Readers for HIV Self-testing: Web-Based Cross-sectional Study

Many countries, including China, have adopted HIV self-testing (HIVST) strategies to complement HIV testing services following the World Health Organization’s recommendation in 2016 [1]. Subsequently, various studies found the use of HIVST acceptable to key populations such as men who have sex with men (MSM) in China and around the world [2-5].
