Sexual Health Determinants During the Life Course and Migration of Haitian-Origin People in French Guiana: Protocol for the Parcours d’Haïti Biographical and Transdisciplinary Study

Sexual Health Determinants During the Life Course and Migration of Haitian-Origin People in French Guiana: Protocol for the Parcours d’Haïti Biographical and Transdisciplinary Study

French Guiana is the French territory most affected by HIV, with a prevalence >1% in the general population [9]. Most people living with HIV in French Guiana are of foreign origin [10]. Recent studies in French Guiana (one based on the slope of CD4 decline and the other on virus phylogeny) showed that, among the foreign population living with HIV, more than half had been infected in French Guiana [10,11].

Providing 2 Types of mHealth Interventions to Support Self-Management Among People Living With HIV: Randomized Clinical Trial

Providing 2 Types of mHealth Interventions to Support Self-Management Among People Living With HIV: Randomized Clinical Trial

Additionally, national HIV epidemiology data reported that the ART treatment rate, based on prescription records in Korea, was 95.5%, and the viral suppression rate was 96%, indicating that most people living with HIV belong to the retention in care [4]. While scientific knowledge of “undetectable equals untransmittable (U=U)” has contributed to transforming HIV into a chronic illness, HIV-related discrimination with stigma remains prevalent in health care settings [5].

Barriers and Facilitators to HIV and Viral Hepatitis Testing in Primary Health Care Settings in the Kyrgyz Republic (BarTest): Protocol for a Mixed Methods Study

Barriers and Facilitators to HIV and Viral Hepatitis Testing in Primary Health Care Settings in the Kyrgyz Republic (BarTest): Protocol for a Mixed Methods Study

HIV and viral hepatitis remain large public health challenges in the World Health Organization (WHO) European region. An estimated 3 million people are living with HIV, 10.6 million with hepatitis B, and 8.6 million people with hepatitis C [1-3]. In the European region, the public health burden of HIV and hepatitis B and C is particularly high in the Eastern European and Central Asian countries [4]. HIV and viral hepatitis share similar modes of transmission and coinfections are common [5].

Socioculturally Appropriate Internet-Based Geriatric Care Model for Older Adults Living With HIV: Experience-Based Co-Design Approach

Socioculturally Appropriate Internet-Based Geriatric Care Model for Older Adults Living With HIV: Experience-Based Co-Design Approach

The aging global population also includes a growing number of older adults living with HIV [2]. Due to advancements in combination antiretroviral therapy, the life expectancy of people living with HIV has significantly increased [3], leading to the first generation of people living with HIV now reaching geriatric age [4]. This demographic shift brings unique challenges as older adults living with HIV experience a complex interplay of age-related comorbidities and HIV-related health issues [5-7].

Intervention With WhatsApp Messaging to Compare the Effect of Self-Designed Messages and Standardized Messages in Adherence to Antiretroviral Treatment in Young People Living With HIV in a Hospital in Lima, Peru: Protocol for a Nonblinded Randomized Controlled Trial

HIV programs continue in search of effective interventions to increase adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART), especially for young people living with HIV/AIDS. This group faces increasing rates of new HIV infections [1] and heightened vulnerability to drivers of antiretroviral resistance, such as suboptimal ART adherence [2], ART abandonment, and non-retention in care [3].

Application of Machine Learning and Emerging Health Technologies in the Uptake of HIV Testing: Bibliometric Analysis of Studies Published From 2000 to 2024

HIV remains a global public health burden, affecting more than 39 million people living with HIV, with approximately 60% of people living with HIV living in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) [1,2]. HIV/AIDS has claimed 42.3 million lives since the beginning of the epidemic and 630,000 lives in 2023 alone [1]. In addition, the continuous transmission and heightened rates of new HIV infections across different countries remain a significant concern [1,2].

Stigma Attitudes Toward HIV/AIDS From 2011 Through 2023 in Japan: Retrospective Study in Japan

Stigma Attitudes Toward HIV/AIDS From 2011 Through 2023 in Japan: Retrospective Study in Japan

With the availability of effective antiretroviral treatment, mortality among people with HIV has decreased considerably; in Japan, the 10-year survival rate for people with HIV no longer differs significantly from that for the general population [1]. Further, modern antiretroviral therapy is able to suppress viremia sufficiently to prevent sexual transmission of HIV [2]. Yet, public perception may not necessarily reflect such progress.

Investigating Social Network Peer Effects on HIV Care Engagement Using a Fuzzy-Like Matching Approach: Cross-Sectional Secondary Analysis of the N2 Cohort Study

This group is a relatively underreached group that continues to experience HIV-related health disparities at a disproportionate rate; approximately 1 in 3 Black sexually minoritized men are estimated to be diagnosed with HIV by age 50 if current rates persist [18,19].

Use of Behavior Change Techniques in Digital HIV Prevention Programs for Adolescents and Young People: Systematic Review

Use of Behavior Change Techniques in Digital HIV Prevention Programs for Adolescents and Young People: Systematic Review

HIV continues to be a global public health concern, with around 1.3 million new HIV infections occurring in 2022 worldwide [1]. Until 2022, there were around 39 million people living with HIV worldwide. HIV imposes a tremendous health and economic burden on the world. Since the epidemic began, more than 40 million lives have been lost due to HIV-related illnesses [2]. Lifelong antiretroviral treatments require long-term health care services and medications [3].

Technology-Based HIV Prevention Interventions for Men Who Have Sex With Men: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Technology-Based HIV Prevention Interventions for Men Who Have Sex With Men: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

HIV remains an important health concern and an area of public health efforts in China, with a particular focus on HIV transmission among gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men due to high and sustained risk of HIV infection. A cross-sectional survey of 47,000 men who have sex with men from 61 cities in China in 2008 to 2009 found an overall HIV prevalence of 4.9% [1].
