Advancing the Integration of Digital Health Technologies in the Drug Development Ecosystem
Addressing these challenges will aid in accelerating the pace at which new developments in DHT-based solutions can be safely integrated into the larger drug development and health care ecosystem. In this viewpoint, we identify some of the major challenges encountered in the integration of DHT-based solutions in the drug development ecosystem and propose practical recommendations that will require collaborative development.

Value of Engagement in Digital Health Technology Research: Evidence Across 6 Unique Cohort Studies
While direct comparisons of engagement in personal DHT research are challenging due to the heterogeneous reporting of retention and adherence factors, and a lack of consensus on a definition of “engagement” [3-6], accumulating evidence supports that so far engagement in the use of personal DHTs has been poor. Specifically, retention in personal DHT research studies and the use of health-related apps is low across diverse populations and applications [7-9].

The integration of DHT using pressure sensors embedded in devices may influence physiotherapy assessment and treatment delivery. Using DHTs to guide, counsel, and facilitate goal attainment may enable individualized physiotherapy care for people with CF, offering a flexible approach to modern management, enhancing adherence, and impacting clinical outcomes important to people with CF.

Clinicians with information governance roles (eg, chief clinical information officer, chief nursing information officer, or Caldicott guardian) were targeted, as they have both DHT user experience and information governance expertise. However, participation was not restricted to these roles, as they do not exist in many low- and middle-income countries.
