Cardiorespiratory capacity was measured using the 20-m shuttle run test [72]. This is a maximal incremental test where 20 m must be run as many times as possible before the beep sounds. The test is terminated when the participant is exhausted or is unable to complete the distance before the beep sounds on 2 consecutive occasions [19]. At the end of the test, the maximal oxygen uptake can be calculated using the formula by Léger et al [72].
For hamstring flexibility, the sit-and-reach test was used [73].
