Parent-Targeted Mobile Phone Intervention to Increase Physical Activity in Sedentary Children: Randomized Pilot Trial

Effect sizes were calculated using Cohen’s d. All statistical analyses were conducted using SAS version 9.3. Characteristics of the participating children are summarized in Table 3. A total of 27 children (mean age 8.7, SD 1.4 years; 56%, 15/27, female; 59%, 16/27, African American) successfully completed the run-in period and were randomly assigned to the MIG (n=14) or IIG (n=13).
