Age-Sensitive Design of Online Health Information: Comparative Usability Study

Age-Sensitive Design of Online Health Information: Comparative Usability Study

In a prior study, Pak and Price [12] examined age-related changes in cognition and designed a Web interface that was adjusted for older users’ cognitive abilities. When websites were designed around keywords, or tags, instead of in a hierarchy (or folders), older users were more efficient at finding information online. In that study, younger and older users browsed a fictional travel information website to answer a series of specific questions (eg, “Where do you mail your passport application?”).
