Cohen d=(µ1−µ2)/σ1,2 was calculated to determine the effect sizes for significant findings. Cohen defines d scores of 0.2, 0.5, and 0.8 as small, medium, and large effects, respectively [61]. An intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) analysis was conducted to determine cross-informant agreement between patients (separately for completers and noncompleters) and therapists in TA ratings, both at interim and post treatment.

A before-after study into this intervention showed a reduction in eating disorder psychopathology (d=1.14) and body dissatisfaction (d=0.86), as well as high patient satisfaction [18]. However, this study had a nonrandomized design and included only those participants who completed the intervention (54% of participants).

Between-group effect sizes were calculated based on the pooled standard deviation, Cohen d. Effect sizes of .80 were considered to be large [38].
Reasons for dropout were independently assessed by the first and third author. If the 2 authors did not agree, the topic was discussed to reach agreement. If necessary, the second author was consulted to arbitrate.
Table 1 presents baseline characteristics of the 156 participants who were included in the trial.
