Reliability of Medical Information Provided by ChatGPT: Assessment Against Clinical Guidelines and Patient Information Quality Instrument

Reliability of Medical Information Provided by ChatGPT: Assessment Against Clinical Guidelines and Patient Information Quality Instrument

Interrater agreement between 2 raters for categorical data was measured with the Cohen κ, which has a range from –1 to 1. A κ value of –1 suggests definite disagreement, κ=0 suggests agreement is due to random chance, and κ=1 suggests that 2 raters are in definite agreement. A second interrater agreement analysis was performed measuring the Fleiss κ.

A group of collaborators worldwide contributed in the design, development, and evaluation of the software, and were selected based on personal contacts and through personal interest, with a full list of names available in the Acknowledgments and on Authorships.org. A subset of 18 of these collaborators were selected for formal software evaluation as described below, with eligibility for selection being a scientific background in medicine or other biomedical areas, regardless of the grade.

Using the Ensuring Quality Information for Patients Tool to Assess Patient Information on Appendicitis Websites: Systematic Search and Evaluation

Using the Ensuring Quality Information for Patients Tool to Assess Patient Information on Appendicitis Websites: Systematic Search and Evaluation

The tool was run using a server based in Texas in the United States, although no preferences were chosen to limit searches to certain geographical areas. Each website was assessed independently by 4 assessors, SAG, KSF, KHF, and LL, all of whom are fluent in English. To assess each website, a Google Form containing the 36 EQIP items was used to evaluate criteria through yes, no, or “N/A” responses.

Assessing the Value of Prehabilitation in Patients Undergoing Colorectal Surgery According to the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Pathway for the Improvement of Postoperative Outcomes: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

Assessing the Value of Prehabilitation in Patients Undergoing Colorectal Surgery According to the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Pathway for the Improvement of Postoperative Outcomes: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

The initial total sample size of 102 patients was increased by 10% to adjust for potential of loss to follow-up resulting in a total sample size of 112 participants (ie, 56 participants per group respectively). Patients in the intervention group will train for 3-6 weeks prior to surgery, twice a week at the institute of physiotherapy under the guidance of a qualified physiotherapist and once unsupervised at home.

Dupuytren Disease: Is There Enough Comprehensive Patient Information on the Internet?

Dupuytren Disease: Is There Enough Comprehensive Patient Information on the Internet?

Typically it consists in progressive formation of fibrous nodules and cords, leading finally to a flexion contracture. As this condition is quite common, reaching an overall incidence of approximately 5% and 20% at the age of over 65 years [5], there are lots of patients actively searching the Internet for possible therapy options and for aids in decision making before consultation with a health professional [6].

Metadata Correction: Diagnosis and Prediction of Neuroendocrine Liver Metastases: A Protocol of Six Systematic Reviews

The author Elena Scherrer was inadvertently omitted from the list of authors during the submission process of the paper "Diagnosis and Prediction of Neuroendocrine Liver Metastases: A Protocol of Six Systematic Reviews" (JMIR Res Protoc 2013;2(2):e60). The author Elena Scherrer (Clinic for Visceral and Transplantation Surgery, Department of Surgery, University Hospital Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland) should have been added after Tobias Buerge in the original published manuscript.

Diagnosis and Prediction of Neuroendocrine Liver Metastases: A Protocol of Six Systematic Reviews

NETs secreting hormones lead to a symptomatic disease. Nonsecreting NETs may occur initially asymptomatic or with delayed symptoms due to progressive increase in tumor mass [3,4]. Therefore, differences in functional behavior are the basis of a classification system categorizing functioning and nonfunctioning NETs [4]. Other reported classification systems are based on embryological origin or histopathological findings.

Transplantation and Surgical Strategies in Patients With Neuroendocrine Liver Metastases: Protocol of Four Systematic Reviews

Transplantation and Surgical Strategies in Patients With Neuroendocrine Liver Metastases: Protocol of Four Systematic Reviews

Due to the favorable environment, metastases of NETs are confined to the liver for a prolonged period of time [11]. Hepatic metastases are considered to be a major prognostic factor, associated with a significantly reduced survival compared to patients without liver metastases [12,13]. Furthermore, the metastatic pattern within the liver also has prognostic and therapeutic impact.
