Reducing Alcohol Misuse and Promoting Treatment Initiation Among Veterans Through a Brief Internet-Based Intervention: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

In this pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT; Clinical Trials.gov NCT02187887), we found small but significant intervention effects favoring the intervention 1 month post intervention on all prespecified drinking outcomes: past 30-day drinks per week (d=0.47), average number of drinks per occasion (d=0.17), binge drinking days (defined at 5 drinks in a row for males and 4 drinks in a row for females; d=0.18), and alcohol-related consequences (d=0.17) compared to control [49].
