Reducing the Cancer Burden of Lifestyle Factors: Opportunities and Challenges of the Internet
To speed the development and evaluation of evidence-based Internet interventions, we recommend that a team approach to research be adopted to (a) encourage a coordinated and more rapid shift from basic to clinical trials to dissemination research; (b) capitalize on the Internet's real time tracking capability to enhance basic research (treatment components, mediators, and moderators) and to link program and process evaluation to outcomes; (c) involve practitioners, policy makers, other stakeholders, and business
