4 New JMIR journal titles in 2018

(Toronto, Jan 17th, 2018) JMIR Publications is proud to announce the launch of 4 new journal titles in 2018: JMIR Perioperative MedicineJMIR AgingJMIR Pediatrics and Parenting and JMIR Dermatology. All new journals are open for submissions, and all are free of charge (no Article Processing Fee) for a limited period of time. All are also accepting Editorial Board member nominations (including self-nominations, see below).

All journals were created based on community suggestions or because prospective editors-in-chiefs volunteered to lead the creation of a new technology-oriented health journal under the umbrella of JMIR (see also How to suggest a new journal title?).

              • JMIR Perioperative Medicine (JPOP, Editor-in-chief: John F. Pearson MD, Harvard Medical School) focusses on technologies, medical devices, apps, engineering, informatics and patient education for perioperative medicine and nursing, including pre- and post-operative education, preventative interventions and clinical care for surgery and anaesthesiology patients, as well as informatics applications in anesthesia, surgery, critical care and pain medicine.
              • JMIR Aging (JA, Founding Editor-in-chief: Jing Wang, Cizik School of Nursing, Houston TX, USA) focusses on technologies, medical devices, apps, engineering, informatics and patient education for medicine and nursing, education, preventative interventions and clinical care for elderly populations.
              • JMIR Pediatrics and Parenting (JPP) focusses on technologies, medical devices, apps, engineering, informatics applications for patient/parent education in pediatrics, parent education, preventative interventions and clinical care for child and adolescent populations.
              • JMIR Dermatology (JDerm) focusses on technologies, medical devices, apps, engineering, informatics applications for patient education in dermatology, including preventative interventions (e.g. skin cancer prevention) and clinical care for dermatological populations.

Articles are carfully copyedited and XML-tagged, ready for submission in PubMed Central.
